Maria is interested in mathematical aspects pertaining to biology and chemistry.

Maria obtained her M.S. degree in Mathematics from Kazan State University (Russia) and her Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from University of Pennsylvania. She held postdoctoral positions at University of Montreal (Canada), Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (Berkeley, CA), and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently, Maria is an Associate Professor of Mathematics, Mathematics Department, Queens College, CUNY.
